Did anyone else freak out when Mike Polizze, the main force behind Purling Hiss, played his first solo set recently at Johnny Brendas? Superfans won't want to miss Mike "solo Hiss" opening up for Kurt Vile & the Violators this March. Always prolific, their tour coincides with a new EP 'Something', which was just released.

Here's a few shots I made for him recently for this round of promos.

Launching a Unisex Jewelry Collaboration for Bario Neal by Constance Mensh

This fall brought the first big shoot and product launch for my clients Bario Neal & Linder NYC.  The high-concept jewelry collaboration re-imagines unisex jewelry, drawing inspiration from the Linder NYC look, while maintaining the design and craftsmanship of a Bario Neal. The images convey the line's spirit of playful experimentation, echoing the the colorful, bio-morphic shapes.

Two of the Best New Voices in Folk Music by Constance Mensh

It's been a busy few months, sorry for the lack of posts. Here's a little peek into some recent images I've had the pleasure of creating for two incredibly talented musicians.

Tamara Lindeman aka The Weather Station shot in Toronto:

You can listen to The Weather Station's latest album on Paradise of Bachelors.

Next up, a lightning-fast shoot right before twilight with Joan Shelley of Louisville, KY on her way through Philadelphia.

Joan also has a gorgeous album, Over and Even, recently released on No Quarter.

Barbara Kasten Summer Press Roundup by Constance Mensh

Though sadly nearing the end of its successful run, Barbara Kasten: Stages, continues to make a mark in print and online. Here is a look at some highlights from the last few months.

Contemporary Art Daily, Barbara Kasten at ICA Philadelphia A great approximation of walking through the exhibition using installation imagery in slideshow. This is a gorgeous online record of the show– so very nice to see the photos completely.

W Magazine Art Issue features both Stages via a slideshow of prints and installation images and  Barbara herself (and my portrait below) in the article/roundup of senior artists, Young at Art.
